Sports and leisure centres - Dimensions Leisure Centre

Facilities available

We've missed you! And we're delighted to say that our leisure centres are gradually reopening services and facilities in line with the Government's road map.

Leisure swims

The phone lines are OPEN to pre-book your leisure swimming sessions at Dimensions, which start from April 12.

You can book up to seven days in advance. A maximum of six people are allowed per booking from the same household or support bubble. Call 01782 233500 to book.

Swimming sessions can only be booked via phone. The dragon slide remains closed and features are subject to availability.

Changing rooms will be available before and after sessions. There will be limited lockers available, social distancing measures in place and a give way system in operation within the changing rooms (we recommend that customers arrive ‘beach ready’).

Gyms and membership

The gyms at Dimensions Leisure Centre (as well as gyms at Shapes Health and Leisure Club at Fenton Manor Sports Complex and The Wallace Sport and Education Centre) are welcoming members and pay-as-you-go customers for pre-booked sessions only from Monday, April 12.

You can sign up for a gym membership and pre-book sessions by using the Active Stoke app (stoke.gov.uk/activestokeapp), booking via the online portal. or by calling your chosen centre (Dimensions: 233500, Shapes: 01782 233222, The Wallace: 233555). Pay-as-you go customers must also pre-book by first registering at https://leisure.stoke.gov.uk/JoinAtHome/ and then using the same methods as above.

There is a fantastic offer for new members. For those who sign up, the gyms’ available facilities and activities are FREE to use in April and just £10 in May. We’re also looking after our amazing current members. Since our centres closed their doors, all memberships and subscriptions have been frozen. For existing members, the available facilities and activities are also be free to use throughout April and cost just £10 in May.

During April, we are continuing our ‘global’ access offer, so members will be able to use any of the facilities available at Shapes, Dimensions and The Wallace.

Membership packages are due to return to full price in June when our full range of facilities and services resume. Membership includes a six-month direct debit contract, plus one-month cancellation period.

A very limited number of gym showers and changing room facilities will be available due to social distancing. Therefore, we actively encourage customers to come dressed for your activity and bring along a pre-filled drinks bottle to stay hydrated, and shower at home.

Other activities

Indoor sports activities for under-18s and for adults within their own household or bubble have also returned.

Outdoor sports pitches reopened on Monday, March 29. For more information, contact dimensions@stoke.gov.uk or energise@stoke.gov.uk

Covid-secure measures

To ensure the activities are covid-secure, the council’s teams have followed guidance from the Government, Public Health England and national governing bodies for sport and leisure.

Safety measures include signage and one-way systems, individual cleaning equipment for each member to collect at reception, hand sanitising stations, extra cleaning by leisure centre teams between sessions, and socially-distanced equipment in the gyms.

Visitors must:

  • Pre-book sessions via the ActiveStoke app, stoke.gov.uk/leisure or by calling a centre.
  • Not have any Covid-19 symptoms in the past 14 days;
  • Arrive on time - no more than five minutes early;
  • Follow queues, one-way routes and social distancing;
  • Sign in with a membership card and support track and trace information;
  • Sanitise their hands on arrival and before/after activities;
