Covid-19 Business Grants

The Government has announced a number of support grants available to local businesses that have been severely impacted by Covid-19 restrictions.

Closed Business Lockdown Payment

Announced on 5 January 2021, businesses mandated to close during National Lockdown Restrictions will be eligible to receive a one off top up grant of:

  • £4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
  • £6,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,001 to £50,999
  • £9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £51,000 and above

Businesses are not required to apply for this one off payment and we will assess eligibility for these grants through our Local Restrictions Support Grant (CLOSED BUSINESSES) application form.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (OPEN BUSINESSES)

This discretionary scheme is for businesses that were not mandated to close but have been severely impacted by Tier 2 or Tier 3 restrictions. This scheme ceases to apply in Tier 4 and National Restriction periods.

This scheme is primarily aimed at hospitality, hotel, bed & breakfast and leisure businesses. This can be viewed in our Local Restrictions Grant Policy below.

We will assess eligibility for this scheme from the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed Businesses) applications. There will not be a separate application form.

Our funding allocation received from Central Government up to 30 December 2020 has been distributed in full.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (CLOSED BUSINESSES)

This scheme is for businesses that are legally required to close from 5 November 2020 onwards due to National or Local Restrictions. Payments are currently being made up to 31 March 2021. Information on payment periods and amounts can be found on the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed Businesses) link below.

If your business has been affected by these restrictions, please make only one application. Payments for all restriction periods will be made based on this application.
