Bus Lanes

One way of helping buses provide a fast and efficient service is through the introduction of bus lanes. Narrow streets around the city limit where bus lanes are feasible. However there are bus lanes at key locations to allow the buses to avoid the worst congestion spots.

There are approximately 2.8 kilometres of bus lanes in the city.

At present taxis are not allowed to use bus lanes.

Cyclists are allowed to use bus lanes where the relevant signs are displayed.
