Do you require an MOT?

Motor cyclist

Why you need an MOT certificate.

An MOT is a requirement by law and controlled by the Department for Transport to regulate the quality and safety of vehicles being used on the public roads.

The purpose of the MOT test is to ensure that cars over three years old are checked at least once per year to see that they comply with key roadworthiness and environmental requirements. All vehicles must be tested by registered MOT testing station. These should display the blue three triangles logo.

Full information about the MOT scheme, inlcuding details about why, when and where you can obtain the certificate is available using this link to an external web site. This takes you to the 'MOT your car' section of www.direct.gov.uk.

Our MOT test station

Our fleet group, based in Northwood, is an approved MOT test station. As well as looking after our own fleet of vehicles, the group provides MOT testing services for the public. Please note that we will carry out the test but do not undertake repairs.

How much does it cost?
