Car Sharing
There are too many cars on our roads and the majority of these carry only one person - especially at peak drive times. One solution is for you to consider car sharing. Car sharing is potentially the most effective means of reducing the number of car journeys. Even if you share for only one or two days or journeys per week, you can significantly reduce car trips.
What is car-sharing?
Car or lift sharing is when two or more people travel together instead of in separate vehicles.
Did you know that there are 10 million empty car seats on our roads every day and if half of Britain’s motorists left their car at home for just one day a week and got a lift with a friend or workmate then traffic congestion and pollution could be cut by 10 percent (Source - Lift Share).
Staffordshire Share-A-Lift
The first and only county-wide lift sharing scheme is here in Staffordshire.
This scheme will help to reduce congestion on our roads, while at the same time reducing pollution and the costs of travelling to work.
Most of us could share journeys on a regular basis, but you may not always know who is travelling in your direction. That is where organised car sharing can help.
If you are interested in finding out more you will need to speak to your employer and ask them to contact us.
