Buses in Stafford Street, Hanley

Stoke-on-Trent's bus network is an essential part of the city's transport system with over 14 million passenger journeys a year.

Most bus services are provided commercially by local bus operators. We work with these operators and neighbouring authorities to provide a number of quality bus corridors where bus priority measures are introduced, bus stops are upgraded and low floor, easy access buses operate.

We also invest more than £400,000 of funding a year towards local bus services which would not otherwise be provided. Subsidised services and contracted Cityrider services are often a life-line for many people who would otherwise be socially excluded.

We offer a wide range of information to help you plan your journey from printed timetables, web based information, a telephone service, text messaging service, roadside timetables and the city centre bus station information kiosk.

Please use the links from this page to help you make the most of travelling in and around the city by bus.

We value your comments and suggestions about public transport. You can email us at transportation@stoke.gov.uk or follow this link for our other contact details.
