Cycling in Stoke-on-Trent
Stoke-on-Trent has been awarded Cycle City status by Cycling England who work for the Department for Transport. We are one of 11 towns and cities across England to be awarded with this accolade.
For Stoke this means an additional £4.8million of cycle funding will be available up to March 2011. This will be spent on projects to improve the image and promotion of cycling, the availability and accessibility of cycling and also more cycling infrastructure such as more parking facilities and cycle routes. For an overview of what projects we intend to carry out in our City please click on the Cycling City link.

- safer routes to schools;
- traffic calming and local safety schemes;
- more cycle parking in schools and town centres;
- more workplace travel plans; and
- education and cyclist training programmes.
