We want to do business with your business!
This latest Mandate for Change publication details the "red carpet" treatment businesses can expect if they choose to do business in Stoke on Trent. As the workforce accounts for 80% of business costs, SASCES aims to roll out that "red carpet" to support new and existing employers and employees in the adult social care sector.
Adult social care is currently the fastest growing industry in the British Economy and labour market profiles for the city project that personal services occupations will account for 9.7% of the employed workforce, increasing by 2000 jobs by 2020.
The provision of care is in the midst of radical change with people requiring and asking for more complex and diverse packages of care and support. Together with huge financial pressures placed on commissioners and existing businesses there is the need for an urgent redesign in the configuration, skills and behaviours of our adult social care workforce.
The Principles of Workforce Redesign
- Take a whole systems view of organisational changes
- Recognise how people, organisations and partnerships respond differently to change
- Nurture champions, innovators and leaders
- Engage people in the process, acknowledge and value their experience
- Be aware of the way adults learn
- Change minds and change systems
- Develop workforce strategies that support transformation and recognise the scope of resources available in the local community
Further information on producing a workforce strategy, business transformation and commissioning for personalisation can be found through the links provided and other SASCES web pages.
