What is the Lifeline service?

The main function of the Lifeline equipment is to provide an emergency link, often to people who live alone. Lifeline is used by lots of people for many different reasons; from people who are vulnerable to falling, to those who just want the reassurance of knowing a friendly voice is available at the touch of a button.

In the event of an emergency, your telephone might be the only way of getting help. With Lifeline help is instantly available, even if your phone is out of reach, the Lifeline equipment is specially designed for this purpose.  It has a large red illuminated button that when pressed, automatically calls our control centre at Fenton. There is also a small alarm button that can be worn as a pendant, clipped to clothing or worn on a neck cord.

When either button is pressed, the control centre receives a call and is instantly able to identify who is calling. The Lifeline equipment has a built-in microphone and loudspeaker so that you can talk to the control centre from around your home. We will immediately contact the right person to get you help, this may be a friend, relative or neighbour. If necessary we will quickly alert the emergency services.
