Information and Services

Traditionally, social care services have been provided by the city council but we are now making exciting changes to improve the services offered.  From now on we will put control back in the hands of the people needing our help - you!  This will give you more choice about what services and support you would like to meet your social care needs.

For you to decide which services you would like to use you obviously need to know what is available. Therefore we have joined up with Staffordshire County Council who have launched the ‘Staffordshire Cares’ portal.

This has a service directory called Purple Pages which includes Stoke-on-Trent services and organisations. Work remains ongoing to include more local information. The link to this service directory is attached here www.staffordshirecarespurplepages.info/startpage.aspx

If you would like your organisation or service to be included in this directory please follow this link www.staffordshirecarespurplepages.info/provider.aspx

For any other enquiries or information please contact the Service Development and Modernisation Team on 01782 231173 or via email at public.information@stoke.gov.uk

National Falls Awareness Week

This year’s Falls Awareness Week will be held on 17- 21 June 2013 and the theme is healthy feet.

The week offers an opportunity for older people, relatives and carers to find out more about falls and take part in the local classes and services that can help to prevent them.
