Rowing
Project Oarsome was officially launched by the Sports Minister Richard Caborn in September 2002.
It aims to introduce young people to rowing through the "Dry Start" programme on concept rowing machines. During the summer months it is water based at Trentham.
This project has a Stoke-on-Trent Schools Rowing Association, which introduces children between the ages of 11 and 16 to rowing at the newly created rowing centre based on Trentham Awakes Lake.
The recently appointed Community Rowing Coach who is based at the newly formed Trentham Rowing Club, will develop and support everyone who wishes to take part in rowing, from the beginner to the more advanced rower.
