Picnic Sites

Westport Lake

There are a number of places around the city that are good for picnics.

If you want to picnic on grass then check out the ‘open spaces’ page for more details. Please follow the link under 'More pages' to go to the page.

If you want to picnic on tables you could try:

  • Park Hall Country Park in Weston Coyney – a National Nature Reserve with excellent geological features, interesting wildlife and diverse geology.
  • Westport Lake in Longport – one of the largest lakes in the city and home to a wide range of water birds. The conservation area at the back of the site offers secluded woodland walks.
  • Hanley Park in Shelton - a formal park with a brand new play area, fountains, sport facilities and sculptures.
  • Central Forest Park in Hanley - a spectacular park with a real countryside feel. It is home to the Stoke skate plaza, play areas and climbing boulders.
