Park Hall Country Park was declared as a National Nature Reserve in 2002. The others are Local Nature Reserves.

English Nature aims to provide one hectare, roughly the size of two football pitches, of Local Nature Reserve per 1000 of the population. In their latest report we have reached our target and are recognised as improving.

We are very keen to involve the community in looking after our Local Nature Reserves and open spaces. Many sites have 'Friends of ' groups, who work with us to maintain their site, influence its development and assist with finding funding.

We run lots of work parties and events at our nature reserves throughout the year.  For more information about events or our nature reserves please contact Stoke-on-Trent City Council 01782 234234.
