Digital storytelling at Stoke-on-Trent Museums

Sonic Scenery in action

The museum service delivers digital storytelling sessions tailored to museum visitors, schools and community groups.

Public workshops appear on our What’s On pages. If you would like to organise an activity for your school or community group, please do get in touch to find out more. Contact Tom Pine Coffin, Alec Morrison or John Simmonds on 01782 233691 or e-mail museum.outreach@stoke.gov.uk .

We encourage individuals and groups to produce their own responses to the city’s natural and human heritage and art collections. We use music, animation, graphic storytelling, reminiscence and other techniques in order to deliver an engaging and accessible learning experience for everyone taking part.

Most activities can be offered either at our museums or in community venues. The museum service has the following facilities available for workshops:

  • 12 high performance laptop computers
  • 6 Canon MVX35i MiniDV camcorders
  • 4 Korg MR1 digital audio recorders
