Local History Enquiry Service

Our Local History Section offers an identification service.

You will be asked to leave your object with our Museum staff who will provide a written opinion about the item.

If your object is too large or heavy to bring in, some photographs of all the main features should be enough for us to identify the object.

Due to the nature of the research involved, the museum service endeavours to respond fully to specialist enquiries within 28 days, and operates a charging scheme for enquiries from commercial organisations.

We regret that we are cannot give valuations.
