Ceramics Network

Image to illustrate the work of the Ceramic Network

Stoke-on-Trent Museums Service is pleased to host the Ceramics Network.

The network is supported by the Designation Challenge Fund and co-ordinates a national community of practice in ceramics collections. It works to develop links between professionals to help share expertise, best practice, and arrange objects loans between collections.

The network was formed to preserve traditional methods and knowledge about ceramics as the industry got smaller and expertise began to disappear. The partners hope that the network will make sure that traditions, knowledge and expertise about all types of ceramics are maintained for future generations as well as fostering new talent.

There will be a series of meetings throughout 2007. For further information about the network please contact: museums@stoke.gov.uk
