Christmas 2012 - update.
Markets free prize draw - £1000 cash winner, Mrs Elinor, Birches Head.
New Year Gifts. It was also decided as times are hard for everyone, to give a New Year gift to 11 of Stoke-on-Trent markets customers. We played postcode lottery with randomly selected entries from the Christmas free prize draw, and 11 postal towns were selected (ST2 to ST11 and CW12), one person from each of those postcodes has won a £20 market voucher to spend in any Stoke-on-Trent market. The winners are Thorneycroft of Adderley Green (ST2), Adams of Longton (ST3), Forrester of Fenton (ST4), Harvey of Newcastle (ST5), Atkins of Goldenhill (ST6), Jones of Kidsgrove (ST7), Shufflebotham of Knypersley (ST8), Weston of Werrington (ST9), Johnson of Kingsley (ST10), Bourne of Blythe Bridge (ST11) and Anchors of Congleton (CW12).
Visits to Santa's Grotto in Longton market were free but optional donations were invited in aid of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, £751.55 was raised for this great charitable hospice.
Longton's childrens competitions. The market also held childrens colouring/writing competitions. Jessica O'Hara aged 3, won 2 Build-a-bars teddies with outfits and a LeapPad 2. Holly Hallam aged 10 won a Furby, and a selection of puzzles, games, Toys and Lego. Kyle Byatt aged 13 won £100 of vouchers to spend in Longton market.
Win £5000 in 5 minutes. Longton market was one of the five partners in Signal Radio's Christmas
competition where one lucky winner won £5000, £1000 of which had to spent in the five partners locations
(Longton market, The Box, Potteries Shopping Centre, Academy of Sound and Westbridge Furniture Outlet). The
winner only received 5 minutes shopping time at each place yet in Longton market alone, Melissa the Signal radio competition
winner won:- a meat hamper, 2 x turkey crowns, a travel cot and other nursery goods, a large pet hamper, 4 pairs of shoes,
a beautiful lamp, large fruit and veg hampers, a white gold and diamond necklace and a white gold and ruby ring....now thats
how to spend £1000.
