Self Help Database

Stoke-on-Trent Library Service has worked closely with NHS Stoke-on-Trent and VAST to develop a directory of self help and support groups serving the local area. Self help and support groups provide a setting in which people who have similar experiences come together to share practical and emotional support.
Many groups provide a range of benefits and support for people coping with long term conditions enabling them to feel more in control and better able to manage their condition. Spending time with people who are going through similar experiences can reduce feelings of anxiety and isolation.
