Better Information, Better Health is a partnership project between Stoke-on-Trent Library Service and NHS Stoke-on-Trent. The project aims to help people become more confident in making informed choices about their health.
If you’re trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle, learn more about an illness or find a support group, your local library can help. You can easily access high quality health information, as well as signposting to health services. You can also use free public access computers to find trusted information on the internet. Friendly, helpful staff are available to help you find the information that you need.
The Health Zone in your library contains:
• Books and leaflets on health, wellbeing and medical conditions.
• Lists of useful websites.
• Details of self-help and support groups.
• A Books on Prescription service.
• Signposting to social care services.
The featured health information has been recommended by health professionals and endorsed by library users and the general public.
If you would like to get involved with the project or need further information, please call 01782 232441.
