Greening for Growth - Greenways
Eight greenways are being created and extended as part of the Greening for Growth programme. Greenways are safe, off road paths that enable you to get around in a more environmentally friendly way. The paths are designed to be used by cyclists, walkers and, in some cases, horse riders. Once complete the new greenways will form part of a wider network of paths that link into the national cycle network. These routes will mean you can get to places like Westport Lake, Bathpool Park and Central Forest Park more easily.
Renovated Greenways:
- Tunstall to Scotia Valley
- Chesterton to Chatterley Valley
- Burslem to Cobridge
- Florence
- Whitfield Valley to Norton
- Lyme Brook, Trent Vale, to Newcastle
- Silverdale Colliery Link
- Two sections of the River Trent path have been completed:off Cromer Road, Northwood - this links in with the Cauldon Canal; and Stoke to Hanford.
