Children and young People

Art Works Unity House, Gamelan Performance, Art of Gold & Secret School.

Taking part in the arts benefits children and young people by developing skills for a rapidly changing world, providing relevant opportunities to enable them to engage in new technologies needed for the twenty-first century economy.

Engagement with the arts and cultural activity contribute significantly to the learning process, enabling children and young people to develop new skills and enjoy new achievements, experiences, raise self-esteem and attainment in schools, youth clubs and many other diverse community settings and venues. The arts can enable young people to contribute to, listen to and value the communities in which they live, work and play, giving them a sense of place, civic pride and belonging

The Cultural Development Team is responsible for developing and delivering in partnership with the Stoke Youth Arts Forum our Arts Strategy for Children and Young People “Arts at the Heart of Learning”.
