Whatever your employment background it can be very daunting to make steps back into employment or to find opportunities to train for a new career.
 
As a big employer in the area, Stoke-on-Trent City Council are keen to help people of all ages who are looking for work. We have various schemes to support people into jobs, education and volunteering and  have provide details below of  further organisations that may help you find further opprotunities.
 
JET (Jobs, Enterprise and Training)
The JET scheme helps people who are unemployed get back into work or start their own business. Although it is based in the City Centre, JET operates outreach services in all communities across the city and offers work-based training specific to the individuals needs. It also has an employer-facing job brokerage service, which provides recruitment support for local businesses. For further information, please follow the link on the left.
 
Connexions
Connexions Direct is a new service for young people age 13-19 that offers quick access to information and advice on a wide range of topics, including employment and training, through one easy to use website.Visit the website at www.connexions_direct.com
