PR & Communication Vacancies
Introduction
Our Public Relations and Communications team help our customers know what services the council can provide for them. They provide a vital link between the council and the general public via leaflets and brochures, adverts, websites, newsletters and press releases.
About these roles
As well as our PR and Marketing officers, who set up promotional campaigns to tell customers about services, we have Press Officers who liaise with local and national media about news stories from the council. Our E-communications officers make sure council information is available 24 hours a day online at Stoke-on-line. However, every employee communicates with the public whether they work in education, social care, recruitment or grounds maintenance. This is why employees receive training to help them use plain English.
Ideal skills for these types of role include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to identify and understand customer needs
- Ability to identify best methods to keep customers informed
- Proactive and flexible approach
- Approachable, friendly and professional
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
