We also run a couple of schemes that help people to study towards qualifications while gaining on-the-job experience, receiving a salary and progressing their career.
Modern Apprenticeships
We also normally recruit modern apprentices on an annual basis. These vacancies are highly sought after and offer on-the-job training and development as well as study at a local college. So, not only will you receive a good rate of pay, you’ll get the qualifications you need to progress your career. We employ apprentices in the areas of housing maintenance with Kier Stoke for roles such as plumbers, electricians or recreation assistants in the Leisure & Sport section of the City Council.

Of if you are interested in working in Leisure, recruitment usually begins around June each year.
Applicants will undergo selection process to check their level of skills during the summer and the successful
apprentices will start work in September.
Career Grade Schemes
These offer progression through a specified scheme that provides a planned skills matrix. As you gain qualifications and grow in experience and expertise, your pay will increase accordingly. Work areas include planning, regeneration, finance, quantity surveying and environmental health.
