Rivers in Stoke-on-Trent

Bridge over the River Trent near the Michelin factory.

Stoke-on-Trent is named after the River Trent which flows into the city atĀ Norton GreenĀ and out at Hanford. Water quality in the River Trent has improved hugely over the last few years, and the river has had more otters return to it than to any other river in the country. There have even been otter sightings near the Civic Centre in Stoke.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has a rivers strategy which provides guidance for landowners, developers and stakeholders. For more information please contact Customer Services on 01782 234234.
