Development Control Committee

In most cases our officers make the decision of whether or not to approve a planning application. Our Development Control Committee makes decisions on around 10 per cent of the applications we receive. These tend to be the larger or more controversial applications.

The committee is made up of 13 elected members that represent local residents. Use the link on this page to view the names of committee members.

The committee meets on a regular basis to make decisions on planning applications. They also make decisions on whether or not or take enforcement action.

Due to the large number of enquiries we handle, it is difficult for us to tell applicants and residents the date an application is due to be reported to the committee. We recommend you keep in regular contact with us to find out when and how your application will be decided.
