Minerals Development Plan

Minerals Development Plan Leaflet Cover

Minerals are needed for everyday life.  They are used for the bricks and tiles that make our homes, most of the energy we use and a large range of manufactured goods.  Stoke-on-Trent was founded on the mineral wealth lying beneath the soil which has shaped the environment in which we live today.  The extraction of minerals requires careful management.

The Minerals Development Plan Document will deal with things such as protecting human health and the environment.  It will also deal with the careful use of mineral resources.  The document will set out a framework within which decisions about mineral working can be properly arrived at.
