Identify your dog - with collar, tag and micro-chip

Your dog must wear a collar with a tag outdoors to identify your contact details.  Also a small micro-chip may be painlessly inserted in your dogs neck to provide permanent identification details.  Stray dogs are scanned automatically by our wardens and this allows us to take them straight home.

Make sure that the collar is secure and the tag information is correct.

Micro-chipping is safe, permanent and does not hurt the dog.  A small micro-chip the size of a grain of rice is inserted under the skin by the neck.  Just ask your vet for details or you can take your dog along to the City Dogs Home - telephone 01782 304 130.
