The Parent Partnership Service

The Stoke-on-Trent Parent Partnership Service has two roles:

  • to work in partnership with parents and carers of children with special educational needs; and
  • to encourage partnership working between other agencies that support children.

The Parent Partnership Service offers:

  • a wide range of information around special educational needs on request;
  • a telephone help line service;
  • a termly newsletter for all statutory and voluntary organisations and education settings across the city;
  • support to parents and carers at all stages of the Special Educational Needs process;
  • accurate and impartial advice on all matters relating to special educational need;
  • drop-in centres and workshop facilities;
  • parent befriender and Independent Parental Supporter training packages;
  • access to an Independent Parental Supporter on request;
  • office or home visits; and
  • provides access to an independent mediation service.
