The city offers a variety of education provision organised specifically to meet a range of different needs:
Abbey Hill School and Peforming Arts College - for pupils with needs related to: communication and interaction including Autistic-Spectrum Disorder; and needs related to learning difficulties.
Middlehurst Special School - for pupils with needs related to cognition and learning.
Kemball Special School - for pupils with needs related to cognition and learning; and needs related to sensory
and/or physical difficulties.
Aynsley School and Specialist College - for pupils with needs related to behaviour, emotional and social difficulties.
