Detailed plans are now being developed to deliver the Council’s proposals for a rationalised secondary school estate. In total, 13 secondary schools are planned to be rebuilt or refurbished in the City from 2011-14. Five of these will be ground-breaking academies, three voluntary aided schools and the remaining five either community or foundation/trust schools. We expect to see the new schools opening from 2010 onward.
