The Register Office can be found at Hanley Town Hall which is located in the Cultural Quarter in Hanley City Centre. The town hall is a listed building and a classic example of Victorian architecture.
There are two ceremony rooms available at Hanley Town hall. Both rooms have been fully refurbished and offer traditional and elegant surroundings for all ceremonies.
The Bennett Room is the larger of the 2 rooms and can accommodate a maximum of 70 guests, including babies, children, witnesses and interpreters.
The Mitchell Room, slightly smaller can accommodate a maximum of 20 guests, including babies, children, witnesses and interpreters.
The Registrar’s office is also available for small intimate ceremonies and can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests (acting as witnesses), no babies or children allowed. The Register office is available Tuesday afternoons only.
Since the Protection of Freedoms Act came into force on the 1st October 2012 we now offer ceremonies between 8am and 8pm every day excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Easter Sunday. If you require a ceremony outside of these hours your request will be considered.
