Local Area Agreement

Cover of the Local Area Agreement 2006
Stoke-on-Trent has been picked to develop a new way of working between the organisations responsible for making people’s lives better in the city. This is known as a ‘Local Area Agreement’ which will help organisations in the city to share resources and work together more effectively.

The Local Area Agreement concentrates on the following issues:

  • Children and Young People
  • Healthier Communities and Older People
  • Economic Development and Enterprise
  • Safe and Stronger Communities

A particular focus of our Local Area Agreement is to work on the cross-cutting issue of vulnerable families in the city which has been led by the city council with support from partners.

The agreement is a dynamic process and things will change as new information and developments influence the outcomes of the actions. It will set clear targets which will reflect the needs and wishes of the city’s residents.

You can get more information about the Local Area Agreement process nationally from the Communities and Local Government website by following the link on this page.
