Sustainable Community Strategy
Launched in 2004 the Community Strategy for Stoke-on-Trent is a vision for the city for the next ten years produced by the city council and the main service deliverers in the Local Strategic Partnership. The aim of the strategy is to identify the main areas of improvements needed for the city and how they will be achieved.
This is done by splitting the strategy into the six 'pillars' of:
- a Healthier City
- a Safer City
- a Wealthier City
- a Greener City
- a Learning City
- a City With a Strong Sense of Community
Under these 'pillars' we have identified priorities for action and outlined what we are doing to achieve our goals. To see what we have achieved so far and the process of how we produced the initial version of the Community Strategy please see 'What we have done so far' '.
The Strategy is currently being reviewed and has been renamed as the Sustainable Community Strategy.
This is to emphasise that our Strategy is delivering locally to improve the quality of life for communities in the city now and in the future as identified in the Central Government publication shown at the Quick Link on this page.
