Stoke on Trent Drug and Alcohol Action Team

The Community Safety Partnership is working together with the Stoke-on-Trent Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT).

Drug and alcohol issues in the city are dealt with by the Stoke-on-Trent Drug and Alcohol Action Team.

When was the Stoke-on-Trent Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) established?

The DAAT was established on 1 April 2001 to deliver the National Drugs Strategy.  The key areas to be worked on are:

  • Education and prevention work, especially with young people.
  • Community Development support local people who respond to drugs issues in their own community and reduce the levels of re-offending amongst drug users.
  • Treatment services - activities to support adults and young people who may relapse.
  • Law Enforcement to stop the availability of drugs.

The Stoke-on-Trent Drug and Alcohol Action Team works with the following agencies:

  • Staffordshire Police
  • Staffordshire Probation
  • Stoke-on-Trent City Council Social Services and other departments
  • Stoke-on-Trent Primary Care Trusts
  • Stoke-on-Trent Youth Offending Team
  • Voluntary organisations
  • Local prisons
  • Community members
  • Service users
