Cremations in Stoke-on-Trent

picture of Carmountside Crematorium

Carmountside Crematorium and Chapel opened in 1940 with the cemetery opening some years later in 1947.

The chapel is laid out in a conventional style with a centre aisle and can seat up to 160 people. There is also standing room for a further 100 people.

The chapel is dedicated not consecrated - allowing use for both religious and non religious services.

We have a piped organ that can accompany singing during the service, or if you prefer, CD’s or tapes may be played.

The use of the chapel and the organ are included in the cremation fee, and the chapel may also be used for a service before a burial, although there is an additional charge for this.

Cremation services are either 15 or 30 minutes long depending on the type on service required.  Extra time can be booked if the chapel is available, and we also offer evening and Saturday morning services for an additional fee.

The chapel has full disabled access and facilities including an induction loop hearing system. There is also a waiting room with disabled toilet facilities and a drinks machine.
