Where can we get married?

Marriage room at the Hanley Town Hall

Civil Weddings
If you wish to have a civil marriage (without any religious content) you may get married at any Register Office or approved premises in England and Wales.  In certain circumstances you may choose to have your wedding at home, in hospital or in prison.  Please click on the web links below for further information.

Current law does not allow for civil marriage to take place in a private house, in open air, a marquee or any other movable structure, for example a boat or hot air balloon.  Please click the link to see the current list of Approved Premises.

Please visit our web pages for further details or alternatively telephone Stoke-on-Trent City Council's Register Office on 01782 235250.
