Registering a stillbirth

Parents who suffer a stillbirth of a child can make a priority appointment to see the registrar within 24 hours.

The stillbirth should be registered in the district where it occurred.

If you do not live in the Stoke-on-Trent district you can visit any register office in England and Wales to give details of the registration.  These will then be passed to the appropriate office.  Please note that there will be a short delay in receipt of the still birth certificate with having to use the post system.

A copy from an entry of a stillbirth register is available at the time of registration.  The cost is £3.50 per certificate.

If we can help in any other way, please contact us.  Click here for our contact details.
