Public vote for public art

Key locations on:
  • the A500 Tunstall Northern Bypass;
  • the Tunstall Western Bypass;
  • Whittle Road close to the A50;
  • the roundabout of Junction 15 of the M6;
  • Junction 14 of the M6; and
  • the Trentham roundabout A34.

are being transformed.

People across the city took part in a public art vote. They looked at the designs by the artists and picked their favourite one for each location. We want the artwork to inspire residents and visitors alike, with unexpected colours, shapes and textures in prominent places to reflect our innovative and changing city.

Advantage West Midlands have funded the artwork.

It’s all part of a £20 million five-year programme called Greening for Growth, which is improving our outside views by spending millions of pounds on parks and other public space. This reflects the wider regeneration that is underway, revitalising shared areas for city residents and boosting community pride.
