Section 11 of the Childcare Act 2006 places a statutory duty on all Local Authorities to undertake a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment (CSA) to gain a clear understanding of their local childcare market. A full CSA is required every 3 years and then a refresh is required on an annual basis.

As a result of the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment an action plan (2011-2014) has been produced to address the findings and recommendations contained within the assessment and additionally, to ensure that the childcare provided in Stoke-on-Trent continues to meet the needs and demands of local families. This action plan is attached below.
