Queen's Jubilee Street Parties

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is making it easier for people to hold street parties for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on 2-5 June 2012 – by reducing the cost of public notices.

The city council is hoping to encourage people across the city to hold a party to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee later this year, and has released a special application pack so people can cover all their obligations in one go.

Normally a street party would mean a road closure, at a cost to the applicant of £500 for advertising a public notice, plus other health and safety checks to be done. The city council is giving people a deadline of 1 April 2012 for people to apply for a road closure. At which point all the applications will be put on one public notice, the cost of which will be covered by the city council.

Applications received after 1 April 2012 will incur a charge of £200 where we are able to process them.

The application pack also includes advice on licensing rules and regulations and highways and health and safety rules about putting up bunting and decorations.

You can download an application pack and the guidelines for holding a Queen's Jubilee street party using the links below.  These documents are in pdf format, which can be read using adobe acrobat reader.  You can download a free copy of this program using the following link.
