Make Stoke-on-Trent a greatworking city.
Our Mandate for Change to make Stoke-on-Trent a great working city includes supporting our businesses, boosting the local economy and making us a market leader in the green revolution.
Make Stoke-on-Trent the place to bring business
When we launched our Red Carpet approach to inward investment, we mean business! We set up a single point of contact for investors, streamlined our planning process, offered tailored solutions to business growth, guidance to funding and access to supply chains, labour markets and networks.
Support and develop existing business
We identified the number one priority as being jobs. Since then we've concentrated, quite rightly, on attracting inward investment. This is the best way to get a lot of jobs into an area in a relatively short period of time. It's also a really good way of diversifying the employment opportunities in the city.
Work with people to promote independence and healthy lives
Raising aspiration and improving attainment for all our children is a high priority. Supporting independence remains one of our highest priorities, actively contributing to promoting healthy lives across the city focusing on improving the health of the workforce and of those seeking to work, increasing life expectancy and reducing health inequalities.
Make Stoke-on-Trent a great place to live
Making sure that the city is a great place to live means that our housing stock has to be fit for purpose.
