How to use our on-line payments

 Click here to access our online payments system

You can pay your council bills 24 hours a day, 7 days a week over the internet or by telephone on 01782 234123. You can pay your:

  • council tax;
  • business rates;
  • housing rents;
  • invoices; and
  • parking fines.

In fact any council bill or invoice.

You will need to have a copy of the bill and your payment card details.  You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, Visa Delta, Switch and Solo.

Is it safe to pay on-line?

Yes. We take care to help make your payments safe. If you do get an error message when making a payment, telling you that the certificate has expired, you may need to update your own browser certificate.

Use the links from this page to find out more about on-line security or visit the questions and answers section. There's also information on other ways to pay your council bills.

Problems with using 3D-secure authentication

We upgraded our system to make sure we comply with Payment Card Industry standards. But some customers have reported problems which we believe are caused by how individual PCs are set up. If you are having problems our advice is to check:

  • the security / firewall settings on your PC to confirm that you can connect to the banks authentication site;
  • that you do not have Pop-up blocker enabled; and
  • that the browser you are using is the latest version available.

This should hopefully solve any problems.
